A Whiter Shade of Pale

"A Whiter Shade of Pale" is a Psychedelic Rock song by the British rock band "Procol Harum", released as their debut song from their self-titled debut studio album on May 12, 1967. It was written by band's members "Gary Brooker", "Keith Reid", and former member "Matthew Fisher". The single reached No. 1 in the "UK Singles Chart" after few months of its release, and stayed there for 6 weeks. In 1998 the song was inducted into the "Grammy Hall of Fame". In 2004, it was placed No. 57 on the "Rolling Stone" list of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time".

Here's a link to the official music video:

And here are the lyrics:

"A Whiter Shade of Pale"

We skipped the light fandango
Turned cartwheels 'cross the floor
I was feeling kinda seasick
But the crowd called out for more
The room was humming harder
As the ceiling flew away
When we called out for another drink
And the waiter brought a tray

And so it was that later
As the miller told his tale
That her face, at first just ghostly,
Turned a whiter shade of pale

She said, "There is no reason
And the truth is plain to see."
But I wandered through my playing cards
And they would not let her be
One of sixteen vestal virgins
Who were leaving for the coast
And although my eyes were open wide
They might have just as well been closed

And so it was that later
As the miller told his tale
That her face, at first just ghostly,
Turned a whiter shade of pale

She said, "I'm here on a shore leave,"
Though we were miles at sea.
I pointed out this detail
And forced her to agree,
Saying, "You must be the mermaid
Who took King Neptune for a ride."
And she smiled at me so sweetly
That my anger straightway died.

And so it was that later
As the miller told his tale
That her face, at first just ghostly,
Turned a whiter shade of pale

If music be the food of love
Then laughter is it's queen
And likewise if behind is in front
Then dirt in truth is clean
My mouth by then like cardboard
Seemed to slip straight through my head
So we crash-dived straightway quickly
And attacked the ocean bed

And so it was that later
As the miller told his tale
That her face, at first just ghostly,
Turned a whiter shade of pale.

Life

"Life" is a soul/pop song by British singer "Des'ree", released as the 3rd single from her 3rd album "Supernatural", on June 2, 1998. It was written and produced by "Prince Sampson" and "Des'ree", and remains Des'ree's biggest hit.

Here's a link to the official music video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKtrWU4zaaI

And here are the lyrics:

"Life"
Mmm, yeah yeah yeah
Oh yeah, yeah yeah
Oh life, oh life

I'm afraid of the dark
Especially when I'm in a park
And there's no one else around
Ooh, I get the shivers

I don't want to see a ghost
It's a sight that I fear most
I'd rather have a piece of toast
And watch the evening news

Life, oh life, oh life, oh life
Doo, doo doo doo
Life, oh life, oh life, oh life
Doo, doo doo doo

I'm a superstitious girl
I'm the worst in the world
Never walk under ladders
I keep a rabbit's tail

I'll take you up on a dare
Anytime, anywhere
Name the place, I'll be there
Bungee jumping, I don't care

Life, oh life, oh life, oh life
Doo, doo doo doo
Life, oh life, oh life, oh life
Doo, doo doo
Life, doo, doo doo
Doo, doo doo

So after all is said and done
I know I'm not the only one
Life indeed can be fun
If you really want to

Sometimes living out your dreams
Ain't as easy as it seems
You wanna fly around the world
In a beautiful balloon

Life, oh life, oh life, oh life
Doo, doo doo doo
Life, oh life, oh life, oh life
Doo, doo doo doo

Life, oh life, oh life, oh life
Doo, doo doo doo
Life, oh life, oh life, oh life
Doo, doo doo doo

Doo, doo doo doo
Doo, doo doo doo
Doo, doo doo doo
Doo, doo doo doo
Doo, doo doo doo
Oh life, oh life

Oh life, oh life, oh life, oh life
Oh life, oh life, oh life, oh life

Hands Clean

"Hands Clean" is a pop rock song by the Canadian artist "Alanis Morissette" released as the lead single from her 5th studio album "Under Rug Swept" on January 8, 2002. The song was written and produced by Morissette herself.

Here's a link to the official music video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DbrbhJttNu8

And here are the lyrics:

"Hands Clean"

If it weren't for your maturity none of this would have happened
If you weren't so wise beyond your years I would've been able to control myself
If it weren't for my attention you wouldn't have been successful and
If it weren't for me you would never have amounted to very much

Ooh this could be messy
But you don't seem to mind
Ooh don't go telling everybody
And overlook this supposed crime

We'll fast forward to a few years later
And no one knows except the both of us
And I have honored your request for silence
And you've washed your hands clean of this

You're essentially an employee and I like you having to depend on me
You're a kind of my protégé and one day you'll say you learned all you know from me
I know you depend on me like a young thing would to a guardian
I know you sexualize me like a young thing would and I think I like it

Ooh this could get messy
But you don't seem to mind
Ooh don't go telling everybody
And overlook this supposed crime

We'll fast forward to a few years later
And no one knows except the both of us
I've more than honored your request for silence
And you've washed your hands clean of this

What part of our history's reinvented and under rug swept?
What part of your memory is selective and tends to forget?
What with this distance it seems so obvious?

Just make sure you don't tell on me especially to members of your family
We best keep this to ourselves and not tell any members of our inner posse
I wish I could tell the world cause you're such a pretty thing when you're done up properly
I might want to marry you one day if you watch that weight and keep your firm body

Ooh this could be messy and
Ooh I don't seem to mind
Ooh don't go telling everybody
And overlook this supposed crime

Come Undone

What can one say about "Duran Duran", one of the most successful bands of the 80s' with a rich career since 1978. The English band is known for their New wave, pop rock and synthpop genres. It was formed by "Nick Rhodes", "John Taylor" and "Stephen Duffy", and after numerous personnel changes, "Roger Taylor" and "Simon Le Bon" were added. This next song made them make their way into the 90s' and into Adult Contemporary music. Simply one of their greatest songs and one of my favorites.

"Come Undone" is a New Wave song by "Duran Duran" released on March 29, 1993 as the second single from the album "Duran Duran (The Wedding Album)". It was written and produced by the band.

Here's a link to the official music video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICnlyNUt_0o

And here are the lyrics:

"Come Undone"

Mine, immaculate dream made breath and skin
I've been waiting for you
Signed, with a home tattoo,
Happy birthday to you was created for you

(can not forgive from falling apart at the seams
Can not believe you're taking my heart to pieces)

Oh, it'll take a little time,
Might take a little crime
To come undone now

[Prechorus:]
We'll try to stay blind
To the hope and fear outside
Hey child, stay wilder than the wind
And blow me into cry

[Chorus:]
Who do you need, who do you love
When you come undone?
Who do you need, who do you love
When you come undone?

Words, playing me deja vu
Like a radio tune I swear I've heard before
Chill, is it something real
Or the magic I'm feeding off your fingers?

(can not forgive from falling apart at the seams
Can not believe you're taking my heart to pieces)

Lost, in a snow filled sky,
we'll make it alright
To come undone now

[Prechorus]
[Chorus]

(can not forgive from falling apart)
Who do you need, who do you love
When you come undone?
(can not forgive from falling apart)
Who do you need, who do you love?
(can not forgive from falling apart)
Who do you love
When you come undone?
(can not forgive from falling apart)

Say It Right

"Say It Right" is an RnB song by the Canadian artist "Nelly Furtado", 3rd single from her 3rd studio album "Loose" released on October 30, 2006. It was written by "Furtado", the American producer, songwriter and rapper "Timbaland" (Tim Mosley) and American hip-hop producer "Danja" (Floyd Nathaniel Hills) and also produced by these two.

Here's a link to the official music video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JnGBs88sL0

And here are the lyrics:

"Say It Right"
In the day
In the night
Say it right
Say it all
You either got it
Or you don't
You either stand or you fall
When your will is broken
When it slips from your hand
When there's no time for joking
There's a hole in the plan

Oh you don't mean nothing at all to me
No you don't mean nothing at all to me
But you got what it takes to set me free
Oh you could mean everything to me

I can't say that I'm not lost and at fault
I can't say that I don't love the light and the dark
I can't say that I don't know that I am alive
And all of what I feel I could show
You tonight you tonight

Oh you don't mean nothing at all to me
No you don't mean nothing at all to me
But you got what it takes to set me free
Oh you could mean everything to me

From my hands I could give you
Something that I made
From my mouth I could sing you another brick that I laid
From my body I could show you a place God knows
You should know the space is holy
Do you really want to go?

Cheers :)

And here are the lyrics:

"Broken Tonight"
(feat. VanVelzen)

You see the world through your window
You don’t even go outside anymore
You only feel safe feeling hollow
You think your scars are way too deep to be cured

But stay for a while
Let me hold you tonight
Just open your eyes you will see the light shine
You don’t have to be frozen
You don’t have to be broken tonight

You hide your heart in the shadows
So afraid to open up to anyone
But I can see your faded halo
And I can make it burn again, like the sun

Just stay for a while
Let me hold you tonight
Just open your eyes you will see the light shine
You don’t have to be frozen
You don’t have to be broken

You don’t have to be broken tonight

Here's a link to the official music video:

And here are the lyrics:

"We Come Running"
We come running
We come running
We come running
We come running

Under a pale blue sky
You never felt so cold
Another sleepless night
How could you ever let go
How do you recognize
The dirty face of gold
Behind that crooked line
Where you never knew you'd go

Headed for the open door
Tell me what you're waiting for
Look across the great divide
Soon they're gunna hear
The sound, the sound, the sound
When we come running
Never go where we belong
Echoes in the dead of dawn
Soon they're gunna know
The sound, the sound, the sound
When we come running

The sound, the sound, the sound
When we come running

When the worlds gone quiet
I see you dancing slow
Feeling satisfied
Where you never knew you'd go

Headed for the open door
Tell me what you're waiting for
Look across the great divide
Soon they're gunna hear
The sound, the sound, the sound
When we come running
Never go where we belong
Echoes in the dead of dawn
Soon they're gunna know
The sound, the sound, the sound
When we come running

The sound, the sound, the sound
When we come running

Days go by
Feeling broke and tired
Remember
Always remember

The sound, the sound, the sound
When we come running
The sound, the sound, the sound
When we come running

Headed for the open door
Tell me what you're waiting for
Look across the great divide
Soon they're gunna hear
The sound, the sound, the sound
When we come running
Never go where we belong
Echoes in the dead of dawn
Soon they're gunna know
The sound, the sound, the sound
When we come running

The sound, the sound, the sound
When we come running

Shake It Out

One of my favorite bands are the great English indie rock band "Florence and the Machine", consisting of lead singer "Florence Welch", "Isabella Summers", and a collaboration of five other artists who provide backing music . Despite their short career that started in 2007 and their discovery that consists of only two studio albums, they have been nominated for more than fifty awards so far, winning over fifteen.
This next song has magic that makes you free your body & soul and take it all out. Play it out loud and discover that magic yourself. As it says, it's always darkest before the dawn so shake it out!

"Shake It Out" is a Baroque pop song by "Florence and the Machine", released as the first official single from their 2nd studio album "Ceremonials" on September 14, 2011. This hit was written by "Florence Welch" and "Paul Epworth".

Here's a link to the official music video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WbN0nX61rIs

And here are the lyrics:

"Shake It Out"

Regrets collect like old friends
Here to relive your darkest moments
I can see no way, I can see no way
And all of the ghouls come out to play

And every demon wants his pound of flesh
But I like to keep some things to myself
I like to keep my issues drawn
It's always darkest before the dawn

And I've been a fool and I've been blind
I can never leave the past behind
I can see no way, I can see no way
I'm always dragging that horse around

Our love is questioned, such a mournful sound
Tonight I'm gonna bury that horse in the ground
So I like to keep my issues drawn
But it's always darkest before the dawn

Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh whoa
Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh whoa
And it's hard to dance with a devil on your back
So shake him off, oh whoa

And I am done with my graceless heart
So tonight I'm gonna cut it out and then restart
'Cause I like to keep my issues drawn
It's always darkest before the dawn

Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh whoa
Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh whoa
And it's hard to dance with a devil on your back
So shake him off, oh whoa

And it's hard to dance with a devil on your back
And given half the chance would I take any of it back
It's a fine romance but it's left me so undone
It's always darkest before the dawn

Oh whoa, oh whoa...

And I'm damned if I do and I'm damned if I don't
So here's to drinks in the dark at the end of my road
And I'm ready to suffer and I'm ready to hope
It's a shot in the dark aimed right at my throat
'Cause looking for heaven, found the devil in me
Looking for heaven, found the devil in me
Well what the hell I'm gonna let it happen to me, yeah

Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh whoa
Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh whoa
And it's hard to dance with a devil on your back
So shake him off, oh whoa

Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh whoa
Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh whoa
And it's hard to dance with a devil on your back
So shake him off, oh whoa

Like A Rolling Stone

One of the greatest most influential artists of all time is the legendary "Bob Dylan", the American musician, singer and songwriter with a rich career of more than half a decade. This next song transformed Dylan's career, and is today considered one of the most influential compositions in post-war popular music and has, since its release, been both a music industry and popular culture milestone which elevated Dylan's image to iconic. The song has been covered by numerous artists like "the Jimi Hendrix Experience", "the Wailers", "Green Day" and my very best by "the Rolling Stones".

"Like A Rolling Stone" is a rock/folk rock song by "Bob Dylan", from his 6th studio album "Highway 61 Revisited" released on August 30, 1965; and released as a single on July 20, 1965. It was written by Dylan himself and produced by "Tom Wilson".

Here's a link to the song performed live by "Bob Dylan":
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSk5K3wfHlg

And another link for "the Rolling Stones" version:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4ollsKu1Ak

And here are the lyrics:

"Like A Rolling Stone"
Once upon a time you dressed so fine
You threw the bums a dime in your prime, didn't you ?
People'd call, say, "Beware doll, you're bound to fall"
You thought they were all kiddin' you
You used to laugh about
Everybody that was hangin' out
Now you don't talk so loud
Now you don't seem so proud
About having to be scrounging for your next meal.

How does it feel
How does it feel
To be without a home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone ?

You've gone to the finest school all right, Miss Lonely
But you know you only used to get juiced in it
And nobody has ever taught you how to live on the street
And now you find out you're gonna have to get used to it
You said you'd never compromise
With the mystery tramp, but know you realize
He's not selling any alibis
As you stare into the vacuum of his eyes
And say do you want to make a deal?

How does it feel
How does it feel
To be on your own
With no direction home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone ?
You never turned around to see the frowns on the jugglers and the clowns
When they all come down and did tricks for you
You never understood that it ain't no good
You shouldn't let other people get your kicks for you
You used to ride on the chrome horse with your diplomat
Who carried on his shoulder a Siamese cat
Ain't it hard when you discover that
He really wasn't where it's at
After he took from you everything he could steal.

How does it feel
How does it feel
To be on your own
With no direction home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone ?

Princess on the steeple and all the pretty people
They're drinkin', thinkin' that they got it made
Exchanging all precious gifts
But you'd better take your diamond ring, you'd better pawn it babe
You used to be so amused
At Napoleon in rags and the language that he used
Go to him now, he calls you, you can't refuse
When you got nothing, you got nothing to lose
You're invisible now, you got no secrets to conceal.

How does it feel
How does it feel
To be on your own
With no direction home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone ?

Underneath It All

There's always something special underneath it all. You just need to see it..

"Underneath It All" is a Reggae fusion song by the American rock band "No Doubt", from their 4th album "Rock Steady", released on December 11, 2001. This hit was released as the album's 3rd single on August 15, 2002. It was written by the famous lead vocalist of the group "Gwen Stefani" and "Dave Stewart", former member of the British duo "Eurythmics". The song features guest vocals from deejay "Lady Saw".

Here's a link to the official music video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvuVFHTvdaY

And here are the lyrics:

"Underneath It All"
There's times where I want something more
Someone more like me
There's times when this dress rehearsal
Seems incomplete
But, you see the colors in me like no one else
And behind your dark glasses you're...
You're something else

[Chorus:]
You're really lovely
Underneath it all
You want to love me
Underneath it all
I'm really lucky
Underneath it all
You're really lovely

You know some real bad tricks
And you need some discipline
But, lately you've been trying real hard
And giving me your best
And, you give me the most gorgeous sleep
That I've ever had
And when it's really bad
I guess it's not that bad

[Repeat Chorus]

So many moons that we have seen
Stumbling back next to me
I've seen right through and underneath
And you make me better
I've seen right through and underneath
And you make me better
Better... better...

[Lady Saw:]
You are my real Prince Charmin'
Like the heat from the fire
You were always burnin'
And each time you're around
My body keeps stalin'
For your touch
Your kisses and your sweet romancin'
There's an underside to you
That so many adore
Aside from your temper
Everything else secure
You're good for me, baby
Oh that, I'm sure
Over and over again
I want more

[Gwen:]
You've used up all your coupons
And all you've got left is me
And somehow I'm full of forgiveness
I guess it's meant to be

[Repeat Chorus]

You're really lovely
Underneath it all
You want to love me
Underneath it all
I'm really lovely
Underneath it all
And you're really lovely

Cheers :)

Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny)

The song of today is an English-language interpretation of the original Hindi song "Jai Ho". The original song was composed by "A. R. Rahman" for the soundtrack of the 2008 Bollywood film "Yuvvraaj", then used for the great movie "Slumdog Millionnaire". I should state that "Jai ho" or "Jaya ho", is a Hindi phrase meaning "Let [the] victory prevail", "Let there be victory", or "May there be victory".

"Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny)" is a world/contemporary RnB song by "A. R. Rahman" and the "Pussycat Dolls" featuring "Nicole Scherzinger", featured on both albums "Doll Domination 2.0" and "Slumdog Millionnaire", released on February 23, 2009. The single was written by "Evan Bogart", "Ester Dean", "Ron Fair", "Erika Nuri", "David Quiñones", "Nicole Scherzinger", "C. Thorbourne", "Nailah Thorbourne" and "Nyanda Thorbourne", and the music was produced by "Nicole Scherzinger" and "Ron Fair". Scherzinger's version replaces the original tune's Hindi words with English lyrics, including the chorus.

And here are the lyrics:

"Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny)"
(feat. A. R. Rahman)

[A. R.:]
Jai Ho!

[Verse 1: PCD (A. R.)]
I got shivers when you touch my face
I'll make you hot, get all you got
I'll make you wanna say
(Jai Ho! Jai Ho!)
I got fever running like a fire
For you I will go all the way
I'm gonna take you higher
(Jai Ho)
I'll keep it steady, cause steady is how I do it
(Jai ho!)
This beat it heavy, so heavy you're gonna feel it

[Chorus: PCD (A. R.)]
(Jai Ho!)
You are the reason that I breath
(Jai Ho!)
You re the reason that I still believe
(Jai Ho!)
Your are my destiny
Jai ho! Oh, oh, oh, oh
(Jai Ho!)
No, there is nothing that can stop us
(Jai Ho!)
Nothing can ever come between us
(Jai Ho!)
So come and dance with me
Jai ho! Oh
You and me, its destiny

[Hook: PCD]
Catch me, catch me, catch me
C'mon, catch me, I want you now
I know you can save me
You can save me, I need you now
I am yours forever, yes forever
I will follow
Anyway, and anywhere
Never gonna let go

[A. R.:]
(Jai Ho!)

[Verse 2: PCD (A. R.)]
Escape away. I'll take you to a place
This fantasy of you and me
I'll never lose the chase
(Jai Ho!)
I can fell you rushing through my veins
There's an ocean in my heart
I will never feel the same
(Jai Ho!)
Just keep it coming, yeah baby, just keep it coming
(Jai Ho!)
You're gonna find out, baby, I'm one in a million

[Chorus: PCD (A. R.)]
(Jai Ho!)
You are the reason that I breath
(Jai Ho!)
You re the reason that I still believe
(Jai Ho!)
Your are my destiny
Jai ho! Oh, oh, oh, oh
(Jai Ho!)
No, there is nothing that can stop us
(Jai Ho!)
Nothing can ever come between us
(Jai Ho!)
So come and dance with me
Jai ho! Oh
You and me, its destiny

[Hook: PCD]
Catch me, catch me, catch me
C'mon, catch me, I want you now
I know you can save me
You can save me, I need you now
I am yours forever, yes forever
I will follow
Anyway, and anywhere
Never gonna let go

[A. R.:]
(Jai Ho!)

[Break: PCD]
I need you, gonna make it
I'm ready, so take it

[Chorus: PCD (A. R.)]
(Jai Ho!)
You are the reason that I breath
(Jai Ho!)
You re the reason that I still believe
(Jai Ho!)
Your are my destiny
Jai ho! Oh, oh, oh, oh
(Jai Ho!)
No, there is nothing that can stop us
(Jai Ho!)
Nothing can ever come between us
(Jai Ho!)
So come and dance with me
Jai ho! Oh
You and me, its destiny

[Outro: PCD (A. R.)]
(Jai Ho!)
Baila! Baila!
(Jai Ho!)
Baila! Baila!
(Jai Ho!)
Baila! Baila!
(Jai Ho! Jai Ho!)

And here are the lyrics:

"Sunday Morning"

Sunday morning, rain is falling
Steal some covers, share some skin
Clouds are shrouding us in moments unforgettable
You twist to fit the mold that I am in
But things just get so crazy, living life gets hard to do
And I would gladly hit the road, get up and go if I knew
That someday it would lead me back to you
That someday it would lead me back to you

[Chorus]
That may be all I need
In darkness, she is all I see
Come and rest your bones with me
Driving slow on Sunday morning
And I never want to leave

Fingers trace your every outline
Paint a picture with my hands
Back and forth we sway like branches in a storm
Change the weather, still together when it ends

[Chorus]

But things just get so crazy, living life gets hard to do
Sunday morning, rain is falling and I'm calling out to you
Singing, "Someday it'll bring me back to you."
Find a way to bring myself back home to you

[Chorus]

Cheers :)

Moon River

One of the greatest songs ever made! A classic that became one of the softest most romantic songs ever.

"Moon River" is a Jazz song first performed by the great "Audrey Hepburn" in the 1961 movie "Breakfast at Tiffany's". It was written by "Johnny Mercer" and composed by "Henry Mancini". Since 1961, this song has been covered by many artists like "Andy Williams", "Aretha Franklin", "Shirley Bassey", "Frank Sinatra", "Rod Stewart", "Paul Anka", " Sarah Brightman", " R.E.M.", "The Killers",  and many more. Hepburn's version was not included in the original movie soundtrack, only months after Hepburn's death in 1993 her version was released on an album titled "Music from the Films of Audrey Hepburn".

Here's a link to the song from the movie:

And here the lyrics:

"Moon River"

Moon river, wider than a mile
I’m crossing you in style some day
Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker
Wherever you’re goin’, i’m goin’ your way

Two drifters, off to see the world
There’s such a lot of world to see
We’re after the same rainbow’s end, waitin’ ’round the bend
My huckleberry friend, moon river, and me

(moon river, wider than a mile)
(i’m crossin’ you in style some day)
Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker
Wherever you’re goin’, i’m goin’ your way

Two drifters, off to see the world
There’s such a lot of world to see
We’re after that same rainbow’s end, waitin’ ’round the bend
My huckleberry friend, moon river, and me

Here's a link to the official music video:

And here are the lyrics:

"Fell In Love With An Alien"

Out in the fields, where the farmers grow bread
When called for the meals, they took for the shed
Then dark came to fall, and silence was all
A beaty shone bright, surrounded by light
C'Mon Now

I fell in love with an alien
I fell in love with her eyes
I fell in love with an alien
I'm telling you no disguise
I'm in love with an alien
I'm in love with her eyes
I'm in love with an alien
I'm telling you no disguise

She came looking out babe, for a Romeo
She ain't looking out babe, for a homeboy
I'm in love with an alien
I'm in love with her eyes
I'm in love with an alien
I'm telling you no disguise

The moon went to bed, the sun growing red
A scarecrow appeared, and chased her in fear
She sent me her love, her love to me
And then we did grow, a big family
C'Mon Now

I fell in love with an alien
I fell in love with her eyes
I fell in love with an alien
I'm telling you no disguise
I'm in love with an alien
I'm in love with her eyes
I'm in love with an alien
I'm telling you no disguise

She came looking out babe, for a Romeo
She ain't looking out babe, for a homeboy

I fell in love with an alien
I fell in love with her eyes
I fell in love with an alien
I'm telling you no disguise

I'm in love with an alien
I'm in love with her eyes
I'm in love with an alien
I'm telling you no disguise

I fell in love with an alien
I fell in love with her eyes
I fell in love with an alien
I'm telling you no disguise

I'm in love with an alien
I'm in love with her eyes
I'm in love with an alien
I'm telling you no dis...
Telling you no disguise

And here are the lyrics:

"Ain't No Mountain High Enough"(with Tammi Terrell)

Listen, baby
Ain't no mountain high
Ain't no vally low
Ain't no river wide enough, baby

If you need me, call me
No matter where you are
No matter how far
Just call my name
I'll be there in a hurry
You don't have to worry

'Cause baby,
There ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough
Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you

Remember the day
I set you free
I told you
You could always count on me
From that day on I made a vow
I'll be there when you want me
Some way,some how

'Cause baby,
There ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough
Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you

No wind, no rain

My love is alive
Way down in my heart
Although we are miles apart
If you ever need a helping hand
I'll be there on the double
As fast as I can

Don't you know that
There ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough
Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you

Don't you know that
There ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough
Ain't no river wide enough

And here are the lyrics:

"I Try"

Games, changes and fears
When will they go from here
When will they stop
I believe that fate has brought us here
And we should be together
But wer,e not
I play it off but I'm dreamin of you
I'll keep it cool but I'm fiendin.
I try to say goodbye and I choke
I try to walk away and I stumble
Though I try to hide it it's clear
My world crumbles when you are not near
Goodbye and I choke
I try to walk away and I stumble
Though I try to hide it, it's clear
My world crumbles when you are not near

I may appear to be free
But I'm just a prisoner of your love
I may seem alright and smile when you leave
But my smiles are just a front
I play it off but I'm dreamin of you
I'll keep my cool but I'm fiendin
I try to say goodbye and I choke
I try to walk away and I stumble
Though I try to hide it it's clear
My world crumbles when you are not near

Here is my confession
May I be your possesion
Boy I need your touch
Your love kisses and such
With all my might I try
But this I can't deny
I play it off but im dreamin of you
I'll keep my cool but I'm fiendin
I try to say good bye and I choke
I try to walk away and I stumble
Though I try to hide it it's clear
My world crumbles when you are not near

Under Pressure

"Under Pressure" is a rock duo by the legendary "Queen" and "David Bowie", released on October 26, 1981. It was also featured on Queen's 1982 album "Hot Space" and many of their live and compilation albums. It was written and composed by the duo.

Here's a link to the official music video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=xtrEN-YKLBM

And here the lyrics:

"Under Pressure"
Pressure pushing down on me
Pressing down on you no man ask for
Under pressure that burns a building down
Splits a family in two
Puts people on streets

It's the terror of knowing
What this world is about
Watching some good friends
Screaming let me out
Tomorrow gets me higher
Pressure on people - people on streets

Chippin' around, kick my brains across the floor
These are the days, when it rains it pours
People on streets - people on streets

It's the terror of knowing
What this world is about
Watching some good friends
Screaming let me out
Tomorrow gets me higher, higher, higher...
Pressure on people - people on streets

Turned away from it all like a blind man
Sat on a fence but it don't work
Keep coming up with love but it's so slashed and torn
Why, why, why?

Love
Insanity laughs under pressure we're cracking
Can't we give ourselves one more chance?
Why can't we give love that one more chance?
Why can't we give love, give love, give love..?

'Cause love's such an old-fashioned word
and love dares you to care for
The people on the edge of the night
And love dares you to change our way of
Caring about ourselves
This is our last dance
This is our last dance
This is ourselves
Under pressure
Under pressure
Pressure

Smells Like Teen Spirit

One of the most popular bands that had a huge influence on fans worldwide but unfortunately a very short life, is the great "Nirvana", an American rock band that was formed by the famous singer/guitarist "Kurt Cobain" and bassist "Krist Novoselic" in 1987. Nirvana went through a succession of drummers, the longest-lasting being "Dave Grohl", who joined the band in 1990. It was best known for their grunge and alternative rock styles. The band career ended after the death of "Kurt Cobain" in 1994.

Here's a link to the official music video:

And here are the lyrics:

"Smells Like Teen Spirit"
Load up on guns and bring your friends
It's fun to lose and to pretend
She's over bored and self assured
Oh no, I know a dirty word

Hello, hello, hello, how low? [x3]
Hello, hello, hello!

With the lights out, it's less dangerous
Here we are now, entertain us
I feel stupid and contagious
Here we are now, entertain us
A mulatto
An albino
A mosquito
My libido
Yay! [x3]

I'm worse at what I do best
And for this gift I feel blessed
Our little group has always been
And always will until the end

Hello, hello, hello, how low? [x3]
Hello, hello, hello!

With the lights out, it's less dangerous
Here we are now, entertain us
I feel stupid and contagious
Here we are now, entertain us
A mulatto
An albino
A mosquito
My Libido
Yay! [x3]

And I forget just why I taste
Oh yeah, I guess it makes me smile
I found it hard, it was hard to find
Oh well, whatever, nevermind

Hello, hello, hello, how low? [x3]
Hello, hello, hello!

With the lights out, it's less dangerous
Here we are now, entertain us
I feel stupid and contagious
Here we are now, entertain us
A mulatto
An albino
A mosquito
My libido

A denial !! [x9]

Sun Is Shining

A song that suits the mood..that puts a smile on our faces and reminds us of the good old summer days, when we would chill by the beach worrying about nothing, soaking up the sun.

"Sun Is Shining" is a reggae song by Bob Marley's former band "Bob Marley & The Wailers", first appearing on the album "Soul Revolution" in 1971, and then on their compilation album "African Herbsman" in 1973. "Bob Marley" later re-recorded the song as a solo singer for his 1978 album "Kaya".

And here are the lyrics:

"Sun Is Shining"

Sun is shining, the weather is sweet, yeah
Make you wanna move your dancing feet now
To the rescue, here I am
Want you to know, y'all, can you understand?

When the mornin' gather the rainbow, yeah, yeah
Want you to know, I'm a rainbow too now
To the rescue, here I am
Want you to know, y'all, can you, can you, can you understand?

Sun is shining, the weather is sweet now
Make you wanna move your dancing feet, yeah
But to the rescue, here I am
Want you to know just if you can, here I stand, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no

Can you understand me now, baby?
Do you believe me?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssGjCKbyO2E

And here are the lyrics:

"We Are The People"
We can remember swimming in December
Heading for the city lights in 1975
We share in each other
Nearer than farther
The scent of a lemon drips from your eyes

We are the people that rule the world
A force running in every boy and girl
All rejoicing in the world
Take me now, we can try

We lived an adventure
Love in the Summer
Followed the sun till night
Reminiscing other times of life
For each every other
The feeling was stronger
The shock hit eleven, got lost in your eyes

I can't do well when I think you're gonna leave
But I know I try
Are you gonna leave me now?
Can't you be believing now?

I can't do well when I think you're gonna leave
But I know I try
Are you gonna leave me now?
Can't you be believing now?

Can you remember and humanise?
It was still where we'd energised
Lie in the sand and visualise
Like it's '75 again

We are the people that rule the world
A force running in every boy and girl
All rejoicing in the world
Take me now, we can try

I can't do well when I think you're gonna leave
But I know I try
Are you gonna leave me now?
Can't you be believing now?

I can't do well when I think you're gonna leave
But I know I try
Are you gonna leave me now?
Can't you be believing now?

I know everything about you
You know everything about me
We know everything about us

I know everything about you
You know everything about me
We know everything about us

I can't do well when I think you're gonna leave
But I know I try
Are you gonna leave me now?
Can't you be believing now?

I can't do well when I think you're gonna leave
But I know I try
Are you gonna leave me now?
Can't you be believing now?

[Faded]
I can't do well when I think you're gonna leave
But I know I try
Are you gonna leave me now?
Can't you be believing now?

Passer ma vie à me demander
Si c'est vraiment fini
Parmi tous ceux qui ont compté
Pourquoi je l'ai choisi !

And here are the lyrics:

"Highway 20 Ride"

I ride east every other Friday but if I had it my way
Days would not be wasted on this drive
And I want so bad to hold you
Son, there's things I haven't told you
Your mom and me just couldn't get along

So I'll drive
And I think about my life
And wonder why I'll slowly die inside
Everytime I turn that truck around, right at the Georgia line
and I count the days and the miles back home to you on that Highway 20 ride

A day might come and you'll realize that if you could see through my eyes
There was no other way to work it out
And a part of you might hate me
But son please don't mistake me
For a man that didn't care at all

So I drive
And I think about my life
And wonder why I'll slowly die inside
Everytime I turn that truck around, right at the Georgia line
and I count the days and the miles back home to you on that Highway 20 ride

So when you drive
And the years go flying by
I hope you smile
If I ever cross your mind
It was a pleasure of my life
And I cherished every time
And my whole world
It begins and ends with you
On that Highway 20 ride....

And here are the lyrics:

"Blue Eyes Blue"

I thought that you'd be loving me
I thought you were the one who'd stay forever
But now forever's come and gone
And I'm still here alone

'Cause you were only playing
You were only playing with my heart
I was never waiting, I was never waiting for the tears to start

It was you
Who put the clouds around me
It was you
Who made the tears fall down
It was you
Who broke my heart in pieces
It was you, it was you
Who made my blue eyes blue

Oh, Never should have trusted you

I thought that I'd be all you need
In your eyes I thought I saw my heaven
And now my heavens gone away
And I'm out in the cold

'Cause you had me believing
You had me believing in a lie
Guess I couldn't see it
Guess I couldn't see it till I saw goodbye

It was you
Who put the clouds around me
It was you
Who made the tears fall down
It was you
Who broke my heart in pieces
It was you, it was you
Who made my blue eyes blue

Oh, Never should have trusted you

' Cause you were only playing
You were only playing with my heart
I was never waiting
I was never waiting for the tears to start

It was you
Who put the clouds around me
It was you
It was you
Who put those clouds around me
It was you
Who made the tears fall down
Only you
Who broke my heart in pieces
It was you
It was you
Who made my blue eyes blue

oh, never should have trusted you
oh, never should have trusted you
oh, never should have trusted you
oh, never should have trusted you

A Victory of Love

One of the greatest most popular bands of the 80s' is "Alphaville", best known for their new wave, new romantic and synth-pop styles of music. The German group was at first named "Forever Young" before changing to "Alphaville". It was formed back in 1982 and is still performing and making music to present date, changing members during its music career. This next song, from a musical point of view, is one of their darkest most powerful songs that has something special and different from any other "Alphaville" song.

"A Victory of Love" is a synth-pop song by "Alphaville", first featured on their first album "Forever Young" released on September 27, 1984 and later on many other compilation and best-of albums. This song was written and composed by the founding members of the group "Bernhard Lloyd", "Marian Gold" and "Frank Mertens".

Here's a link to the official music video:

And here are the lyrics:

"A Victory of Love"

Waiting
For a change in the weather
I'm waiting for a shift in the air
Could we get it together, ever
Hoping for your return, hoping for your sweet, sweet
Return

Hello
Is this heaven calling
Hello, hello, is somebody there, she must be somewhere
And then she says hello, hello, hello
She's really an angel
She stands in the sunshine
She's closing her eyes, she starting to dream,
She's pulling the strings
She's dreaming a strange dream
Where nothing is grey
Then she takes me away and she's pulling the strings
When she's playing with love
She's playing with love...

Counting
I count every second
And I'm standing
I stand in the rain, I walk up that lane
Which leads to the sunshine
She stands in the sunshine
She's closing her eyes
Then she takes me away and she's pulling the strings
When she's playing with love
She's playing with love...

Pida Me La

For all Spanish music lovers, here's a great group and a great song for you. These musicians were born in France but come from gitanos parents from Catalonia, Spain. As their name tells us, the great "Gipsy Kings" are the kings of rumba catalana and flamenco music styles which they introduced to a world-wide audience. This next song is one of my favourites; and whether you're into this type of music or not, you will be captivated by the music, the emotions and that strong tender voice.

"Pida Me La" is a Latin/Flamenco song by "Gipsy Kings", first released as a single in 1992 and later appeared on their album "Gipsy Kings (Greatest Hits)" released in 1999. This song was written and composed by the group itself.

Here's a link to the official music video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJzP6WAVtn8

And here are the lyrics:

"Pida Me La"

Cada vez, que siempre la recuerdo
Cada vez, se que vuelve a dejarme
Quisera, nunca va a haber
Tristeza en corazon
Volver, nunca vuelve a dejarme

Pida me la,
Esta nina que yo quiero
Pida me la
Esta nina que me muero
Pida me la, Pida me la....

Pida me la,
Esta nina que yo quiero
Pida me la
Esta nina que me muero
Pida me la, Pida me la....

Cada vez, que siempre la recuerdo
Cada vez, se que vuelve a dejarme
Quisera, nunca va a haber
Tristeza en corazon
Volver, nunca vuelve a dejarme

didi didi didi...........etc.

Pida me la,
Esta nina que yo quiero
Pida me la
Esta nina que me muero
Pida me la, Pida me la....

One of the best most successful French rap groups nowadays is "Sexion d'Assaut"; a must-know group of 8 rappers formed in 2002: "Lefa " (Karim Fall) from Senegal, "L.I.O." (Lionel Dahi) from Ivory Coast, "Maître Gims" (Gandhi Djuna) from Congo Kinshasa, "Doomams" (Mamadou Baldé) from Guinea, "Maska" (Bastien Vincent) from France, "Black Mesrimes" (Alpha Diallo) from Guinea, "Adams Diallo" (Adama Diallo) from Senegal and "JR O Crom" (Karim Ballo) from Mali. The group retains the style of old school hip-hop but keeps underground influences. This next song is one of their recent hits from their latest album.

"Ma Direction" is a French rap hit by "Sexion d'Assaut" from their 4th studio album "L'Apogée", released on May 5, 2012. This song was written and composed by "Wati B", "Lefa", "Adams Diallo", "Stan-E", "Maska" and "Maître Gims".

And here are the lyrics:

"Ma Direction"

[Intro: Maitre Gims]
On prétend pas être des modèles pour les gosses
Ni pour personne d'autre !
On tient juste à dire que... le pont qui mène au succès
Est un pont fragile

[Couplet 1: Maître Gims]
J'ai demandé pardon sans qu'on puisse me l'accorder
J'ai demandé ma route sans qu'on puisse me l'indiquer
Si seulement tu savais (Si seulement tu savais)

[Couplet 2: Lefa]
J'ai fuis les sonneries, les bruits d'chaises
Moi j'cherchais d'autre style de richesses
Du journal d'Anne Frank à c'lui d'Bridget
J'ai jamais kiffé lire depuis qu'jai
Tu connais BatiPro, Crit, Selpro

[Outro: Maitre Gims]
T'es foutu si tu échoues, dans ta situation
Foutu si tu échoues, dans ta situation.

Cheers :)
