Comfortably Numb

Best known for their psychedelic and progressive music, the legendary "Pink Floyd" became one of the greatest rock bands and one of the most commercially successful groups in the history of popular music. This next song is one of their most famous hits and was included in the "Rolling Stone" magazine's list of "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time".

"Comfortably Numb" is a progressive rock song by "Pink Floyd", featured first on their 11th studio album "The Wall", released on November 30, 1979; and released later in the same year as a single on June 23, 1980. The song was written and composed by the band's own two members "Roger Waters" and "David Gilmour".

Here's a link to the song:

And here are the lyrics:

"Comfortably Numb"
Hello,
Is there anybody in there
Just nod if you can hear me
Is there anyone at home
Come on now
I hear you're feeling down
I can ease your pain
And get you on your feet again
Relax
I'll need some information first
Just the basic facts
Can you show me where it hurts

There is no pain, you are receding
A distant ship smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying
When I was a child I had a fever
My hands felt just like two balloons
Now I've got that feeling once again
I can't explain, you would not understand
This is not how I am
I have become comfortably numb

O.K.
Just a little pin prick
There'll be no more aaaaaaaah!
But you may feel a little sick
Can you stand up?
I do believe it's working, good
That'll keep you going through the show
Come on it's time to go.

There is no pain you are receding
A distant ship smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying
When I was a child
I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
The child is grown
The dream is gone
And I have become
Comfortably numb.

Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites

Originated back in the late 90s', "Dubstep" music has become more and more known and popular worldwide. Influencing it by other music genres like pop, electro house and heavy metal, also created other fusion genres and derivatives that are gathering huge numbers of fans. This next song by the American electronic music producer "Skrillex" is one of the greatest dubstep songs that became his most commercially successful hit to date.

"Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites" is a Dubstep song by "Skrillex", from his second extended play of the same name, released on October 25, 2010. This hit also uses elements of electro house and progressive house, and a vocal sample of exclamations from "Rachael Nedrow" (Chinese American online personality who posts Sport stacking videos on YouTube / unofficially the second fastest female Sport Stacker in the world for the cycle) shouting "Yes, oh my gosh!", as well as a phrase put backwards.

Here's a link to the song:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSeNSzJ2-Jw

And here are the lyrics:

"Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites"

[backwards] I'm just like you... you don't need to hide... I just like you

Yes, oh my god! (Oh no, who's there?)

[backwards] I'm just like you... you don't need to hide... I just like you

Yes, oh my god! (Oh no, who's there?)

[backwards] I'm just like you... you don't need to hide... I just like you

Look at this... I'm a coward too
You don't need to hide, my friend, for I'm just like you

Lemonade

If you're into weird music or let me call it unusual kind of music, then you must get familiar with this two-sister group called "CocoRosie". The two American sisters "Bianca (Coco)" and "Sierra (Rosie)" formed the band in Paris, France and are known for their "Freak Folk/Experimental" type of music.

"Lemonade" is a freak folk/eperimental song by "CocoRosie" from their 4th album "Grey Oceans", released on April 17, 2010. The song was written by the sisters and composed by "Gael Rakotondrabe".

Here's a link to the official music video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tu3EcAHdHlE

And here are the lyrics:

"Lemonade"
It was Cinco de Mayo
Pillow case on his head
No more breathing time
An ambulance sped
Sped 'round ever corner
Calling out his name

Shot a rabbit from the back seat window
Sat and watched the summer corn grow
Ate ice cream in a desert dream
And got lost in father's singing
Too hot inside
Too hot outside
Lazy days when I said let's go for a ride
We'll sail on Spirit Lake
Me, my pappy, and his lemonade

Tim and Tina were my parents' names
They got engaged
They were inflamed
Seduced by the light of butterflies
How they shimmer, how they glimmer
Those butterflies

We seven kids
We almost died
Nearly put to death
By lightening strikes
Instead there was hot, pink
Flashes in the sky
We climbed the rocks, in snow and rain
In search of magic powers
To heal our mother's pain

Bandoleros

"Don Omar" (William Omar Landrón Rivera) also known as "El Rey" (The King) is one of the major contributors to the Reggaeton music industry. This next song is one of his songs that brought Reggaeton airplay to the United States and to an international level.

"Bandoleros" is a hip-hop/reggaeton song by the Puerto Rican reggaeton singer and actor "Don Omar", featured on both his first compilation album "Los Bandoleros", released on May 10, 2005; and as one of the movie's sountrack in the album "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift", released on June 20, 2006. Leich Hek Baladé

One of the few artists who intoduced French rap in Lebanon and the Middle East, producing his second album in his country of origin Lebanon, is the great French Lebanese rap artist "RAmez (Ramzi Khoury)".

"Leich Heik Baladé?" is a rap hit by RAmez from his 2nd album "Leich Heik Baladé", released in 2007. This song mixes French and Lebanese; it was written and composed by RAmez himself and features additional vocals for the Lebanese part by "Soulaf".

Here's a link to the song:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HOjCRYbVO_w

And here are the lyrics:

Elements of Life

One of the greatest trance music ever made, chosen as the title of the album that it was featured on. Even though it's considered as a long track, but somehow you still feel it's not enough.

"Elements of Life" is a progressive trance music by the trance Dutch D.J. "Tiësto", from his 3rd studio album "Elements of Life", released on April 6, 2007. This track was produced and composed by "Tiësto" himself, "D.J. Waakop Reijers-Fraaij" and "Geert Huinink".

Riddle of Life

Many of you are familiar with the famous "Dr. Alban", and I'm pretty sure that he is best known to you for his debut albums or his latest ones. I'm guessing that few of you are familiar with his mid-90s' albums that actually didn't match up with the success of his previous albums or those which came later in the new millenium, but which, in my opinion, featured some of his best songs.

"Riddle of Life" is a Eurodance/hip-hop reggae song by the Nigerian Swedish musician and producer "Dr. Alban (Alban Uzoma Nwapa)", from his 4th album "Born In Africa" released on April 9, 1996. This song was written and composed by "Dr. Alban" himself and "Jörgen Elofsson", and it featured additional vocals by "Antonia Samorgiannidou".

Here's a link to the song:

And here are the lyrics:

"Riddle of Life"
This is the riddle of life
This is the riddle of my heart
Com si, com si, coma joha
Com si, com si, coma johaoh
Com si, si coma joha
Com si coma joha
This is the way you touch me
This is the riddle of my heart

This is the riddle of life
This is the riddle of my heart
Com si, com si, coma joha
Com si, com si, coma johaoh
Com si, si coma joha
Com si coma joha
This is the way you touch me
This is the riddle of my heart
Com si, coma joha

Come take it easy, steady and slow
Come take it easy, steady and slow
Come take it easy, steady and slow
This is the riddle of my heart
It's easier than you know
It's easier than you know
Come take it easy, steady and slow
This is the riddle of my heart
Com si, com si coma joha
Come take it easy, steady and slow
Come take it easy, steady and slow
This is the riddle of my heart
It's easier than you know
It's easier than you know
Come take it easy, steady and slow
This is the riddle of life

Com si, com si coma joha
This is the riddle of life
This is the riddle of my heart
Com si, com si coma joha
This is the riddle of life

Youth of The Nation

All you metal lovers out there, you don't need me to remind you of the great "P.O.D.". But whether you're a metal fan or not, it doesn't really matter because you can't but admire this next song.

"Youth of The Nation" is a rap rock/alternative rock song by the American nu/christian metal band "Payable on Death" (best known as P.O.D.), from their 4th studio album "Satellite", released on December 21, 2005. It was written and composed by the group itself.
It's important to mention that part of the song was inspired by the school shootings at Santana High School in Santee, California where a fifteen-year-old student killed two and wounded thirteen.

Here's a link to the official music video:

And here are the lyrics:

"Youth Of The Nation"
Last day of the rest of my life
I wish I would've known
Cause I didn't kiss my mama goodbye

I didn't tell her that I loved her and how much I care
Or thank my pops for all the talks
And all the wisdom he shared

Unaware, I just did what I always do
Everyday, the same routine
Before I skate off to school

But who knew that this day wasn't like the rest
Instead of taking a test
I took two to the chest

Call me blind, but I didn't see it coming
Everybody was running
But I couldn't hear nothing

Except gun blasts, it happened so fast
I don't really know this kid
Even though I sit by him in class

Maybe this kid was reaching out for love
Or maybe for a moment
He forgot who he was
Or maybe this kid just wanted to be hugged
Whatever it was
I know it's because

[chorus:]
We are, We are, the youth of the nation

Little Suzy, she was only twelve
She was given the world
With every chance to excel

Hang with the boys and hear the stories they tell
She might act kind of proud
But no respect for herself

She finds love in all the wrong places
The same situations
Just different faces

Changed up her pace since her daddy left her
Too bad he never told her
She deserved much better

Johnny boy always played the fool
He broke all the rules
So you would think he was cool

He was never really one of the guys
No matter how hard he tried
Often thought of suicide

It's kind of hard when you ain't got no friends
He put his life to an end
They might remember him then

You cross the line and there's no turning back
Told the world how he felt
With the sound of a gat

[chorus]

Who's to blame for the lives that tragedies claim
No matter what you say
It don't take away the pain

That I feel inside, I'm tired of all the lies
Don't nobody know why
It's the blind leading the blind

I guess that's the way the story goes
Will it ever make sense
Somebody's got to know

There's got to be more to life than this
There's got to be more to everything
I thought exists

[chorus]

Cheers :)

Illusions

Who doesn’t remember one of the greatest hip-hop and rap icons of the 90s’ and of all time “Cypress Hill”. If you haven't met them yet then here's your chance. They were without any doubt leaders in the hip hop and rap industry. Please enjoy one of their best tracks and one of my own very best too.

"Illusions" is a rap/hip-hop song by the great American rap/hip-hop group "Cypress Hill" from their 3rd album "Cypress Hill III: Temples of Boom" released on October 31, 2005. It was written by the group's own two members "B-Real (Louis Freese) and DJ Muggs (Lawrence Muggerud)".

Here's a link to the official music video:

And here are the lyrics:

"Illusions"

Some people tell me that I need help
Some people can fuck off and go to hell
God damn, why they criticize me
Now shit is on the rise so my family despise me
Fuck em! And feed em cause I don't need em
I won't join em if I can beat em
They don't understand my logic
To my gat to my money and I'm hooked on chronic
I never wanted to hurt a nigga
Unless ya come flexin that trigga, I dig ya
That grave on the east side of town
Lay ya six feet underground
From man, to the dust to the ashes
All I remember tell me where the cash is
Clic Cloc barrel at my dome
Give all your loot or you ain't going home
But I ain't going out wit the pain
Wa da da dang, wa dada daa dang

[Chorus:]

I'm havin illusions I'm havin illusions drivin me mad inside
I'm havin illusions I'm havin illusions fuckin me up in my mind
I'm havin illusions I'm havin illusions drivin me mad inside
I'm havin illusions I'm havin illusions fuckin me up in my mind

Muthafuckas be drivin me up the walls
Hopin that I fall but they can suck my balls
Straight jacket, strap it
In a padded room when some punk niggaz can't hack it
Distracted from our reality
Now I'm let out on a minor technicality
They all fucked up now
Cause they let a nigga back on the street somehow
I'm lookin for someone like me
Livin in my own world to my own degree
On the loose in the city lookin at the ho wit the big titties
Lookin at me and I feel shitty
A little tensed up gettin hot
Cause she looks like my girl who just smoked at the crack spot
I'm tryin to find ways to cope
But I ain't fuckin round wit the gauge or a rope

I'm havin illusions
I'm havin illusions
I'm havin illusions
I'm havin illusions
I'm havin illusions
I'm havin illusions
I'm havin illusions
I'm havin illusions

Manic Monday

If you woke up this morning with that Monday feeling, wishing it was still Sunday, then you know what I'm talking about. So here's a song to get you through your Monday.

"Manic Monday" is a pop song by the American pop rock band "The Bangles" from their 2nd studio album "Different Light", released on January 27, 1986. This song was written by the pop legend "Prince" originally for another group "Apollonia 6" but offered to "The Bangles" two years later instead.

Here's a link to the official music video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oFPZzmfu6j4

And here are the lyrics:

"Manic Monday"Six o'clock already
I was just in the middle of a dream
I was kissin' Valentino
By a crystal blue Italian stream
But I can't be late
'Cause then I guess I just won't get paid
These are the days
When you wish your bed was already made

It's just another manic Monday
I wish it were Sunday
'Cause that's my fun day
My I don't have to run day
It's just another manic Monday

Have to catch an early train
Got to be to work by nine
And if I had an aeroplane
I still couldn't make it on time
'Cause it takes me so long just to figure out what I'm gonna wear
Blame it on the train
But the boss is already there

It's just another manic Monday
Wish it were Sunday
'Cause that's my fun day
My I don't have to run day
It's just another manic Monday

All of the nights
Why did my lover have to pick last night
To get down?
(Last night, last night)
Doesn't it matter
That I have to feed the both of us
Employment's down
He tells me in his bedroom voice
"C'mon honey, let's go make some noise"
Time it goes so fast
(When you're having fun)

It's just another manic Monday
I wish it were Sunday
'Cause that's my fun day
I don't have to run day

It's just another manic Monday
I wish it was Sunday
'Cause that's my fun day
It's just a manic Monday

Easy

A great song for a lovely Sunday. For anyone who is going through a break-up and feel it's the right thing to do. For anyone who doesn't want to be chained anymore, I dedicate this song to you because you're easy like Sunday morning.
"Easy" is a pop/soul hit by "Commodores" from their 5th album "Commodores" released on March 18, 1977. This hit was written by the group's lead singer "Lionel Richie" and composed by the lead guitarist "Thomas McClary".

Here's a link to the song performed live by Commodores:

And here are the lyrics:

"Easy"
Know it sounds funny
But I just can't stand the pain
Girl I'm leaving you tomorrow
Seems to me girl
You know I've done all I can
You see I begged, stole
And I borrowed

Ooh, that's why I'm easy
I'm easy like sunday morning
That's why I'm easy
I'm easy like sunday morning

Why in the world
Would anyboddy put chains on me?
I've paid my dues to make it
Everbody wants me to be
What they want me to be
I'm not happy when I try to fake it!
No!

Ooh,that's why I'm easy
I'm easy like sunday morning
That's why I'm easy
I'm easy like sunday morning

I wanna be high, so high
I wanna be free to know
The things I do are right
I wanna be free
Just me, babe!

That's why I'm easy
I'm easy like sunday morning
That's why I'm easy
I'm easy like sunday morning
Because I'm easy
Easy like sunday morning
Because I'm easy
Easy like sunday morning

Cheers :)

To pay my respect for music, I'm gonna start with a song that simply expresses the passion for music we all have and its importance in our lives that makes us lucky to have it.
A great combination of lyrics, music and of course vocals, "Thank You For The Music" by the great Swedish pop legends "ABBA" is a pop/europop song written and composed by two of the group's own members "Benny Andersson & Björn Ulvaeus". It was first featured in their 5th album "ABBA: The Album" released in 1977 and later re-released as a single on November 6, 1983. Not to mention that "Thank You For The Music" was more known as one of the main songs in the worldwide musical "Mamma Mia!".

And here are the lyrics:

"Thank You For The Music"
I'm nothing special, in fact I'm a bit of a bore
If I tell a joke, you've probably heard it before
But I have a talent, a wonderful thing
'Cause everyone listens when I start to sing
I'm so grateful and proud
All I want is to sing it out loud

So I say
Thank you for the music, the songs I'm singing
Thanks for all the joy they're bringing
Who can live without it, I ask in all honesty
What would life be?
Without a song or a dance what are we?
So I say thank you for the music
For giving it to me

Mother says I was a dancer before I could walk
She says I began to sing long before I could talk
And I've often wondered, how did it all start?
Who found out that nothing can capture a heart
Like a melody can?
Well, whoever it was, I'm a fan

So I say
Thank you for the music, the songs I'm singing
Thanks for all the joy they're bringing
Who can live without it, I ask in all honesty
What would life be?
Without a song or a dance what are we?
So I say thank you for the music
For giving it to me

I've been so lucky, I am the girl with golden hair
I wanna sing it out to everybody
What a joy, what a life, what a chance!

So I say
Thank you for the music, the songs I'm singing
Thanks for all the joy they're bringing
Who can live without it, I ask in all honesty
What would life be?
Without a song or a dance what are we?
So I say thank you for the music
For giving it to me.

Cheers :)
